Let me ask you a question: what is it that you want for your life? What is your dream? Big or small, when you engage with life coaching, you set yourself on the journey towards that next stage of your life, towards your dream. This may involve a small but important change, or a whole direction shift. The scale of the change doesn’t matter: I would love to help you take those first steps.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is both a relationship – of trust with your coach – and a method: of identifying what you want to change in your life, working out with your coach how you will go about changing it, and doing it. Unlike counselling or therapy, it is not a long process. It’s a short-term investment for long-term gain. Typically people will see a life coach for six to twelve sessions, usually once a week. Trying to make significant life changes on our own can be difficult and very frustrating. Sometimes we need the objective eyes and ears of another to help us see things about ourselves that maybe aren’t obvious to us.

Working with a life coach

A good life coach walks with you on your journey, shows you the way forward when you get stuck, and celebrates your success when you reach your destination But it is your journey, and you do the miles.

Our coaching sessions are a safe space for you to think about your life and what you want to get out of it. As your coach, I’ll listen to you, and help you to define what motivates and inspires you; to work out what you need, what you want and what you want to change. The coaching process is a transformative one. Having identified and visualised what you’d like your future to look like, I’ll use focused questioning to shine a light on the obstacles and challenges that are getting in your way. Together we’ll work out manageable steps you can take to overcome them. You won’t be alone on this journey: I’ll be with you to encourage you, and give you a hand when you need it.

The exciting thing is that you will grow through this process as you discover new things about yourself, develop your confidence, acknowledge your personal strengths and abilities, and learn to engage more with your inner strength. For more about the process of life coaching, see ‘What to expect’.

You need to be able to trust your life coach, so it’s important that you find the right person for you. We all relate better to some people than others, so if you are thinking of working with me, I invite you to have a free telephone consultation with me to find out if we click; contact me to book your half-hour session at a time that works for us both.
