Time commitment

Life coaching is an investment for a short period of time. Typically people will see a life coach for six to twelve sessions, usually once a week.

There is a reason for this. Neuro-scientists have discovered that on average it takes 66 days for the brain to create a new neural pathway, which means it takes that long to change a mental habit. So much of what we deal with in life coaching is about changing the way that we do things, the way that we think, and our beliefs about ourselves and the world.

We do all have the potential to lead a joyful, contented life. We can learn the habits of happiness and the power of positivity. I can help you acquire these habits.

Fees

£125 for a one-hour session. Until 30th September 2021, if you book a series of six sessions, the total charge will be £450 (discounted from £750).

The process

In my coaching, I provide a safe space for you to articulate your aims, your desires, your concerns, your dilemmas, your dreams, and your frustrations.

Through careful, focused listening and clear questioning, I will help you work out what it is you want to achieve, whether personal, work related, or social. Together we will identify the steps you need to take to move you forward. I will set challenges for you to tackle before the next session, so that week by week you move forward at the pace that is right for you.

Life coaching is not about pretending there are no problems in life. We all face challenges and difficulties. But we can make sure that our problems don’t defeat us. What life coaching can help us see is how to face the challenges and overcome them by taking small steps at a time, building our resilience along the way.

As you move forward one step at a time, you’ll realise that sometimes the steps have turned into great leaps forward – it’s amazing how this subtle process works.

If you commit to your own development through this amazing work, I have confidence that you will grow and thrive as a person.

My practice is never static. I’m always interested to hear what clients say about the work I do with them. I’m constantly refining and developing what I do based on the feedback I receive from my clients.

Specialisms

Confidence

I deal with whatever you bring to me. That said, having spent 33 years working creatively in the performing arts, I do have special expertise in boosting confidence and self-believe, and their offshoots: performance and positivity.

I help my clients develop a confidence based on a real knowledge of themselves. Not puff, not arrogance, but real deep self-belief, self-kindness, and self-worth. With so many years’ experience of coaching people to perform at their best, I am well placed to train you to present yourself well.

Presentation skills

As part of our work together, if you should want it, I will coach you in giving a presentation (face to face if geography and COVID allow). You might come with a real presentation you need to give at work, or one you’d like to give. You’ll deliver your presentation to me, and then I’ll feed back on what I am seeing and hearing, and then we’ll get to work.

I won’t be judging your content – I’ll be helping you improve the presentation of it. We’ll look at everything from the way you walk into the room to the way you handle questions. We’ll look at voice production for public speaking, eye direction and focus, what to wear, how to deal with your nerves and doubts, where to look while you’re addressing an audience, and how to captivate a room. I have years of experience of helping performers put themselves on the line and give of their best. It’s my job to make you come over brilliantly.

Retirement coaching

If you are getting to the end of your full-time working career, you may be trying to work out what to do with your time after that retirement date. Remember, you have more options now than you did when you were 21! You have the experience and the background and expertise in your field.

You might choose to use that expertise professionally, or start a new project that you’ve always wanted to do. You might choose to get involved in a voluntary capacity in a field that will use your experience and skills. You may just want to stop completely for a while, especially if you’ve come out of a demanding post.

How do you navigate all these choices? Maybe you are juggling financial pressures with your own energy levels and health needs. Maybe you feel a little overwhelmed by all the considerations. I’d love to help you find clarity in this.
